C.61 - "Winter Theme #2"

Composed: ~July to August 2014

This "Winter Theme" on the other hand is cliché rubbish that repeats an overused progression that you can find in any number of pieces, most of which are from 'Les Misérables'. Whereas the first "Winter Theme" would have accompanied a wintry area, this second "Winter Theme" would almost certainly have accompanied a village. In that sense, it could be considered "Village Theme #4", but as 2/3 of those themes could drive people insane, I think I've written enough of them.

This theme was influenced heavily by another theme from 'Golden Sun' – this time, "Freezing Kalt" (which I would later arrange for orchestra). My use of the panpipes here would almost certainly have come from that theme.

This piece also uses a recording that was created with the EastWest sample libraries – again as an updated version and not the original version.

In 2019, I re-purposed this composition into a video track for my music library, "RPG Orchestral Essentials", giving it a proper title - "Morning Frost".
