New Arrangement: "Little Madra" from Golden Sun: The Lost Age (2002)

By request, here's an orchestral arrangement of the delicate "Little Madra" theme from the classic JRPG, "Golden Sun: The Lost Age" (2002).

Feel free to download the score and recording here!

If you are one of my Patrons, you can now find the MIDI, XML and SIB files I created for this arrangement now available to download from your Patreon Google Drive folder!

Arranger's Note:

"One of the earliest town themes in "The Lost Age", "Little Madra" is a very small, brittle track for a small and brittle town.

The original emphasizes a delicate and quick-lived pizzicato on the strings (which I have brought out a bit more here and extended), underneath slow-flowing melodies that are generally descending.

I decided to add a small spark of life to these melodies, incorporating some ornamentation that appears suitable to decorate these rather expressive themes. Akin to the 2-part melody at 0:38. I also added a 2nd melody to the previous passage at 0:20.

Otherwise, there is not too much to say here, except I included the addition of a dry xylophone to further enhance the brittleness of the opening pizzicato, as well as some more sustained instruments such as the triangle and celesta, to carry the music through a touch more without too much emptiness."
