Arranger's Note:

"In this track, the tonal center is rather blurred. It would appear to be in F Lydian due to the 1st measure (0:02), though it could arguably also be E Phrygian with many phrases resolving into E (0:05). And then the final section takes place in E as well (1:11), with a lead in from A minor to B major.

In many of Sakuraba's tracks, he uses a common 4/8-bar phrasing. However, in this track, there is an intriguing 6-bar phrase (0:02 - 0:21), disturbing the flow of expected phrasing which could be attributed to the unpredictability of the wind.

Whereas "Magma Rock" was dense and muddy, and "Aqua Rock" was bright and twinkling, "Air's Rock" is breathy and flowing. As such, I've used an extensive amount of woodwind instruments, as well as a full choir with a treble soloist. The extended flute technique of "percussive breaths" was also used, to further enhance the breathy aesthetic. Strings only appear in the final section, as per the original."
