With it's imminent arrival on the Nintendo Switch, I wanted to do my part to let people know about this rather beautiful soundtrack from "Rune Factory 4" (2012) alongside a recording to test its accuracy. Feel free to check it out!

Arranger's Note:

"This "Arrangement" version is an expansion of the regular "Tears of the Wind Elder Dragon", which was solely piano and was looped. This track has an additional orchestral introduction, as well as expanded material from 2:01 onward, including a proper ending rather than a loopable one.

Otherwise, the track opens with a nice piece of contrary motion in D minor which slowly expands outward in the strings and harp before shifting at 0:18 to G minor, then B-flat major, then A minor, before finally resting on G major.

Then the original material from "Tears of the Wind Elder Dragon" plays with a solo piano, starting with a doleful modulation from B-flat major into C major with the added 9th (D), and then D minor. This tertiary progression (B-flat to D) occurs quite often throughout this track, in different iterations (e.g. D minor to F major at 1:09, and D minor to B-flat major at 2:27).

There is a brief modulation into the relative major (F major) at 1:35, and later on, there is a surprising modulation into the tonic major (D major) at 2:42 with the presence of an F#, similar to a "tierce de Picardie".

Then the track concludes with some triumphant tertiary shifts (e.g. D major to B-flat major at 2:45)."
